Why are Chia seeds good for you?

For the past couple of years, chia seeds have become extremely popular. People eat it knowing that they are good for you but I have come to realize that a lot of people eating them don’t know ALL of the amazing health benefits these seeds have. Some of the following are some of the many benefits of chia seeds and what do they provide to you!

Chia Seeds are high in protein which provides satiety.

Chia seeds are high in omega- 3 fatty acids.

Chia seeds contain important minerals such as manganese, phosphorous, copper, iron and selenium. These are very important for you and your health, for example iron plays a very important role for your body and your blood (hemoglobin).

Chia seeds are high in fiber.

Chia seeds contain no sugar.

Chia seeds are great to cook with! It gives a thicker consistency to different recipes.

With all of this being said, it is also important to consume chia seeds in moderation. The reason for this is because consuming too much fiber can actually end up affecting you instead of keeping on improving your help, for example causing digestive problems. I like to eat 1-2 teaspoons of chia seeds twice a week.

Some amazing recipes to cook with chia seeds are chia pudding, smoothies, muffins, yogurt bowls and more!
